Our Success Rate
98% of Xavier graduates are employed, attending grad school or working in service or volunteer positions within six months of graduation.
How do we collect the data for our success rate?
Xavier University contacts each graduating student to find out their employment status following graduation. If the student indicates that they are ‘still searching,’ Xavier will put them in contact with a Career Coach to help them find employment.
The NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) is the organization that monitors how universities capture and report their success rate. NACE (National Association of Colleges and Employers) uses the term “knowledge rate” to define the percent of graduates for which the institution has reasonable and verifiable information concerning the graduates’ post-graduation career activities. This information comes from multiple sources of outcomes data (e.g. survey responses, email, phone, social media and information from faculty, staff and employers).
What is Xavier's "knowledge rate"?
Xavier’s knowledge rate for its 2018 outcomes is 88%. That means that Xavier got information from 88% of its graduating class to record each student’s employment status.
Why are we proud of our knowledge rate?
Xavier’s knowledge rate for the 2017-18 academic year was 88%, which is significantly higher than the 2017 national average of 64.5%.
